Inspired by the top-rated series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," CSI: MIAMI is a drama that follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who use both cutting-edge scientific methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes.
Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. His team includes Calleigh Duquesne, a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Eric Delko, an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways, and Ryan Wolfe, a former patrol officer who specializes in blood and trace evidence. Rounding out the team is Alexx Woods, the no-nonsense know-it-all coroner, and Natalia Boa Vista, the enigmatic DNA specialist. Helping Horatio with cases is Det. Frank Tripp, a tough yet thorough police officer.
Together, these investigators collect and analyze the evidence to solve the crimes and to avenge those who cannot speak for themselves--the victims.
Eva La Rue is an Emmy-nominated actress best known for her portrayal of Dr. Maria Santos on the daytime drama "All My Children." For this role she earned an Emmy and NAACP nomination and won two ALMA Awards. She was recently awarded the esteemed Gracie Allen Award by the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television. La Rue's other television credits include recurring roles in "Third Watch," "Soul Food" and "George Lopez." Her other television credits include a guest appearance in "Hope and Faith" and a leading role in "Head Over Heels." Her television movie credits include starring roles in Danielle Steele's "Remembrance," "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story" and the upcoming movie "The Last Month". Currently, La Rue is a co-host on the E! Style Network's "Modern Girl's Guide to Life." Other hosting credits include working as a correspondent and part-time weekend anchor for the syndicated show EXTRA! and as host of the "New Candid Camera," "The Miss America Pageant" and "Weddings Of A Lifetime." On the New York stage, La Rue starred in a production of "Women of 9." A native of California, Eva La Rue was born in Long Beach and raised in Norco and currently lives in Los Angeles with her daughter, Kaya. Her birth date is December 27.
Emily Procter portrayed Republican attorney Ainsley Hayes in "The West Wing." Her additional television credits include guest-starring roles on the series "Friends" and "Just Shoot Me," and a starring role opposite David Schwimmer and Chris Cooper in the movie "Breast Men." Last year, Procter starred with Martin Lawrence in "Big Momma's House 2," the hit sequel to "Big Momma's House." Her feature film credits also include a starring role in "Body Shots" and appearances in "Leaving Las Vegas" and "Jerry Maguire." Procter graduated with degrees in journalism and dance from East Carolina University. While in school, she worked as a weather anchor at WNCT-TV Greenville, North Carolina. Detective Yelina Salas first appears on CSI: Miami as a detective with the Miami-Dade Police Homicide Division. She has a close connection with Horatio Caine, the head of the Miami-Dade Crime Lab: she had married his late brother, Raymond Caine, and bore his son, Ray Caine, Jr.
Though her family would ultimately settle in Italy, Sofia Milos was born to a Greek father and Italian mother in Zurich, Switzerland. Its sea-level elevation, coastal location, position just above the Tropic of Cancer, and proximity to the Gulf Stream shapes its climate. The Miami Heat is the only major professional sports team that plays its games within Miami's city limits at the American Airlines Arena. The team recently

The Orange Bowl, a member of the Bowl Championship Series, hosts their college football championship games at Sun Life Stadium. The stadium has also hosted the Super Bowl; the Miami metro area has hosted the game a total of nine times (four Super Bowls in Dolphin Stadium, including Super Bowl XLI and five at the Miami Orange Bowl), tying New Orleans for the most games.
